What is laser liposuction?

Laser liposuction involves having paddles strapped to your body which emit lasers. These generate heat, causing the metabolism of fatty acids contained within cells. Treatments need to occur 48 hours apart and a minimum of 6 are required. The fat cells remain intact and can lose or gain mass still, meaning laser liposuction is a semi- treatment which may need to be repeated a few times a year.

What is cavitation?

Cavitation uses ultrasound to break down fat cells using vibration. The treatment can be targeted at problem areas, and the fat cells are completely broken apart and destroyed. This means they can no longer contain fat, and makes this treatment a one. As the treatment is administered by a technician, problem areas can be targeted and feathered for a natural look, and asymmetries can be corrected. Treatments are 10 minutes per segment, with a maximum of 4 segments per treatment and 5-7 days between each treatment.

Which is more effective?

Due to its nature, cavitation can be seen as the more effective treatment. Any future fat gain or loss will be in accordance with the contoured areas, meaning problem areas won't rear their head again. By comparison, laser liposuction must be repeated and any fat gain or loss will not be in keeping with the areas treated. Furthermore, cavitation is less invasive, less painful, and requires minimal downtime when compared with laser liposuction.
